Welcome to the DISC Scholarship Pages
Thanks to your support this past year, DISC will once again offer up to $10,000 in scholarships to deserving candidates in 2010-2011. Winners will be notified in April 2011 with public announcement made at Global Finals in May. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2011-2012 Academic Year, beginning with Fall semester.
The 2010 Award Recipients were announced in May at Global Finals. A complete list of awardees can be found by clicking here. The DISC scholarship sub-committee is looking forward to reviewing the many exciting applications that you will be sending in.
The scholarship application deadline for this year is: February 1, 2011.
To be eligible, Scholarship Applicants must:
- Be graduating from High School or pursuing a post High School degree in a Trade School, Community College or University in the 2010-2011 School year.
- Must have participated in at least one of the creative problem solving programs that Destination ImagiNation has sponsored- as a team member and/or in a volunteer capacity.
- If applying while pursuing Post High School graduation, the applicant should be actively continuing his or her involvement in Destination ImagiNation in some capacity – either as a team member or as a volunteer. See the website for further details.
- Participants from our international affiliates are welcomed and encouraged to apply, but should realize we do require the materials to be presented in English as we do not have translators available. Our international applicants should also be aware that the awards will are be paid to their learning institution in US Dollars.
For the DISC Scholarship search, it is the applicant's CREATIVITY and involvement that are deemed most important. We want to see you use your creativity and divergent thinking! The most weight in our scoring is applied to the creativity of the solution to our challenges, and the past and continued involvement of the applicant. Scholarship applicants may choose from the following tracks: Personal Essay, Internet and Presentation. The maximum award for the Essay track will be $500.00. Award amounts for the other two tracks will be higher determined by the quality, value and depth of the entries submitted.
Instructions will be released in the Fall of 2010
We wish all of our scholars luck and creativity in their endeavors.
