Welcome to the DISC Scholarship Pages

Welcome to the DISC Scholarship Pages

Thanks to your support this past year, DISC will once again offer up to $10,000 in creativity and volunteerism scholarships to deserving candidates. DISC will also fund the DI Valedictorian and DI Scholar Awards, a tradition begun in 2012.

Last year's winners were notified in April with the public announcement made at Global Finals in May 2012. Scholarships were awarded for the 2012-2013 Academic Year, beginning with Fall semester.

A complete list of past awardees can be found by clicking here.

All Destination Imagination team members  graduating from high school in 2013 may compete for the Global Finals’ 2013 ValeDIctorian of the Graduating Class. The named ValeDIctorian will receive a $1000 scholarship, and 4 named DI Scholars will receive $250 scholarships from DISC.  The requirements and application information will be posted here when available.

The DISC Creative and Founders Award Scholarships deadline is: March 1, 2013.

To be eligible, Scholarship Applicants:

  • should be graduating from high school or currently pursuing a post High School degree in a Trade School, Community College or University. They must be accepted at a college/university or other post-secondary educational institution and planning to attend in the school year 2013-2014. Proof of acceptance will be required before award can be disbursed.

  • must have participated in at least one of the creative problem solving programs that Destination Imagination has sponsored, as a team member and/or in a volunteer capacity.

  • should be actively continuing his or her involvement in Destination Imagination in some capacity, either as a team member or as a volunteer.

Participants from our international affiliates are welcomed and encouraged to apply, but should realize we do require the materials to be presented in English as we do not have translators available. Our international applicants should also be aware that the awards will be paid to their learning institution in US dollars.

For the DISC Scholarship search, it is the applicant's CREATIVITY and involvement that are deemed most important. We want to see you use your creativity and divergent thinking! The most weight in our scoring is applied to the creativity and usefulness of the solution to our challenges, and the past and continued involvement of the applicant

There are two Creative Scholarship tracks this year:  Marketing and Tool.  Applicants for these scholarships can also apply for the Founders Award, established in recognition and appreciation of VOMBO, the first booster organization for DI, and its founding members.
